Embrace Your Home!

In today’s society, loving where you live is more important than ever! We are choosing to spend more quality time at home. We are not traveling near as much as we once had. We are spending more time working from home, and we may be homeschooling our children for the first time. Therefore, our home environment plays a massive role in our well-being.

We should keep a few elements in mind when creating a space we can love and live in...

First, think about the colors in your home. Warm or fire colors are more likely to give you high energy; however possibly make you hungry and sometimes cause you to be angrier than those soothing and relaxing cool colors. Everyone needs a balance that plays well with their psyche and an enjoyable color for their style.

Second, think about the items you have collected over the years. Is your home cluttered and in disarray? If so, your mind may be as well. Many of us like to think we can function in a less than tidy space, but our productivity and enjoyment skyrockets once we have a nice, neat area! Having everything well organized will keep you more productive and your energy high no matter your space.

Third, think about personal space. If you share your home with multiple people, perhaps a mom, dad, children, or other adults, everyone should have a little area where they enjoy retreating. Again no matter how large or small your home is, you can have an ideal balance, a place that everyone can enjoy.

Fourth, think about any areas of your home that can be transformed and put to better use. Perhaps your mudroom ends up being a catchall instead of a very well-functioning, utilized space. Maybe you have an unused area that could find new life as a reading corner or a personal library.

Finally, think about durability. Since your home is getting more and more usage, having highly durable household items is much more critical. Here at Great Design 4 U, we specialize in helping our clients have beautiful but functional, durable spaces! Here are just a few convenient, stable, and operational elements to consider.

  1. Automated window treatments can save you time and aggravation and bring you into the future with incredible technology. Visit our website blogs on window treatments to find helpful information about the wonders of automated window treatments.

  2. Designate a coffee station in your home. A coffee station is an excellent addition to any coffee lover's kitchen, giving you the convenience of a few steps to commute into your favorite coffee shop!

  3. Performance grade fabrics can give you peace of mind. Replacing lighter-weight materials with performance grades can allow you that pristine, white sofa knowing it will stand the harsh test of pets, kids, and time!

  4. Smart home technology can automate not only your window treatments but your entire home. Imagine being able to adjust your windows, lighting, and door security with the touch of a button!
