While COVID, supply chain issues, GC communication issues, and weather created obstacles, Anna was never an issue. She was a driving force to ensure we had a home that met our wants and needs. She was superbly on top of the selection process and provided documents to the builder with blazing speed. She supplied selections, item numbers, availability of existing stock, and pertinent details such as installation instructions well in advance of any deadlines. She supplied the same information to the GC as well as the installers so we were all on the same page. She even had to supply the same information to the builder when they could not produce/recall the information. Anna “picked up the slack” created by others.
Anna had our back at all times. She was present as needed during meetings with the builder. She inspected the progress as it developed and headed off potential issues as they began to emerge. In other words, she was engaged and proactive.
While she is flexible and accommodating in the design space, she is also precise when needed. Things ordered and installed were pretty close to, if not so, PERFECT. No hiccups on her part. AT ALL!!!
Building a home can be strenuous and enough to send you to the therapist. It’s true. In our case? Without a doubt. Two things I/we are certain of though-
1-We love the way our home looks. It has dashes of brilliance throughout and it makes us smile, thanks to Pixie and her “dust”.
2-Great Designs 4 U helped us to “make it to the other side” of this journey.

What are the elements of good interior design?
A “good” interior designer is a designer that has a good combination of experience and education; a designer that can envision beautiful elements in a room; a designer that stays current on the latest trends and that continuously educates him or herself.
Great Design 4 U strives however to be a great interior design company. What makes a great interior designer? An interior designer who has all of the above traits and truly has a passion for interior design, a designer that listens and takes the time to get to know the client and what is expected and how they can best serve them! A great interior designer has respect for not only the client, the client’s home, and the client’s family, but also for the process, holding everyone accountable in efforts to have a successful project. A great interior designer aligns themselves with other great professionals. Here at Great Design 4 U we only work with vendors, contractors, and products we can stand behind! Ultimately your happiness is our main priority!
Why do you not offer hourly rates?
In an effort to be clear and transparent, Great Design 4 U set a flat rate so you, our fabulous clients, know exactly what you are getting and for exactly how much. This eliminates the guessing game so the project can be completed knowing exactly how much you will spend.
What if I can’t find a time on your calendar that works with my schedule?
Email support@greatdesign4u.com and our support staff will make every effort to ensure we can find a good time within our business hours to accommodate your also very busy schedule.
What skills does an interior designer need?
The answer depends on what type of interior design project is being designed and created.
Are you only working with one project or multiple projects?
You may only have a few pieces of furniture that you need help selecting
But you may need a few pieces of furniture in your newly renovated space
Perhaps your newly renovated space now has windows that need to be addressed
Within that space you may need assistance laying out cabinets architectural details perhaps lighting or electrical plans and maybe you need a plumbing plan.
Once you have that layout you’re probably going to need to make decisions on flooring tile wall coverings lighting fixtures...
Once you have determined everything that you may need help with you can start determining who is the best professional to help you.
Tips: First and foremost, make sure that your interior designer’s skills match what you require for your full job.
No matter what type of project you have, a great designer should hold the most important skill; the skill of communication. He or she should, in our opinion, listen to their clients much more than try to sell their client on what they want versus with a client wants, guiding them to make the best-informed decisions.
Your chosen designer should understand and be able to communicate in an educated manner, what is needed in the construction portion if your project requires this level of service.
Your designer should be able to explain and help you to understand why they are suggesting the specifications that they are specifying (not just give you a selection and say because it works).
Your designer should be able to help you to determine the best solutions for your lifestyle and help you to acquire those elements such as lighting, plumbing fixtures, tile, furniture, paint selections, and so on.
A great interior designer should be able to help time manage your project. Again, communication is key.
A professional designer also should be able to help you budget plan.
A professional designer will have a professional team to help with elements they do not specifically specialize in! Often times when working with the right professional they will be able to guide you to a team of professionals that specializes in specific elements to the design. The designer will manage the overall look, and the project, giving you a cohesive look that is well designed.
